View overlooking Honiton, Devon, UK. Honiton is a small town on the main road between Exeter and Axminster . Wool and cloth were some of the first goods to be traded commercially in the town in the 13th Century. Toward the 17th and 18th Centuries, Honiton was an important wool town, but it is more famous for the production of fine Honiton Lace. By the 19th Century, Honiton's reputation had increased and spread beyond fabrics and wool, to pottery. Producing a highly unusual and world renown pieces after the Second World War, when its art deco pieces established Honiton as a centre for expertise.. |
